Straight and to the point:
In May, Wednesday leagues will be at Lincoln Park–5:30 pm (try to be there early so that we don’t run into too many issues with sunlight).
Saturday leagues will be at Douglas Park–10:00 am.
CORRECTION: Note that Saturday leagues will be at Douglas Park, not Lincoln, as previously posted.
…and brought Spring with it! And not a moment too soon.
This month, we are starting our Wednesday leagues. They will be at Douglas Park on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm. It’s still getting dark early, so be ready to play on time.
Saturdays are going to be at Lincoln Park at 10:00 am with one exception. The first Saturday of the month (the 6th) is going to be at Douglas (because the Abraham Lincoln Half Marathon will be at Lincoln Park). So, we’ll see you at Douglas on the 6th and Lincoln for the rest of the month!
2103 has arrived! And so have the 2013 SDGC player packs. Shirts, towels, and bag tags will be available at leagues starting this week (Jan. 12th). If you are have already paid membership dues for 2013, come pick up your swag! If you are new to the club, or haven’t paid your dues yet, you get all that for $20!
Leagues this month will be at Douglas Park (10:00 AM). Hope to see you there!
Can you believe it is December already? If you ate a bit too much at Thanksgiving or other holiday events, come burn a bit of those calories off on the course. We’re playing at Lincoln Park on Saturdays at 10:00. Yes, we play year-round, so dress warm and in layers!
Also this month, our next club meeting will be on December 12th at 6pm. We’re meeting at Bernie and Betty’s (1101 S. Spring St–at the corner of Spring and Allen). We’ll have officer elections and some good food! Hope to see you there.
Yes, we do play year-round! And in November, we’ll be playing at Douglas Park on Saturday mornings. Still 10:00 a.m.
Wednesday leagues are done for the year, but we’ll pick them back up in the Spring.
Hope to see you on the courses!
Yes, you read the title correctly, we are going to have our Saturday morning leagues in September at UIS‘s recently-completed 18-hole course. We will meet at the normal time–10:00 AM. We will meet near parking lot D (campus map), which is a large parking lot for visitors. If you’ve never played it, it’s a very open course.
Wednesday leagues in September will be at Lincoln Park. We are going to start 30 minutes earlier, at 5:30 PM, so that we don’t run out of daylight too quickly.
Hope to see you all on the courses!
August 9-19 is the State Fair in Springfield. Our weekly rounds will meet at their normal times and places. Saturdays we play at Lincoln Park at 10:00 am; Wednesdays at Douglas Park at 6:00 pm. Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience! Rounds generally last about an hour and a half (maybe a bit longer at Lincoln Park).
If you are visiting Springfield, we invite you to join us on Wednesdays or Saturdays. Or, if you can’t make it for that, but are interested in playing the course with one of the locals, email the club and we’ll try to find someone to throw with you. We have three fantastic courses to share with you! We are available at: SpringfieldDiscGolfClub@gmail.com.
We hope to see you around!
