OK, how many of you are going to attend the 2008 Worlds in Lansing Michigan? How many of you have taken the time and looked at what the courses look like? Well I have looked and it looks like on most holes that they just took a big front end loader or a bulldozer and rode thru the woods. . The fairway are from 4 to 14 feet wide, very few field shots, and no down hill or off a cliff shots. Some of the courses do not have concrete or even rubber mats. If these are championship course, the people in Michigan should get out of state more often. Playing in the World's one would expect to play on real championship courses. These course are far from that. Now lets hear from the locals in Lansing.

I've had a few injuries to my shoulder before. I never went to the doctor for them but they have each been severe and lasted several weeks to a month or longer.

one was to a muscle that comes across my shoulder towards my chest. and twice I've done something to a muscle deep in my shoulder towards the back.

here comes the wierd part..

I can distinctly recall, especially after this last one, that as I eased back into my game.... my throwing strength has improved?!?!

maybe its because I was carefull and stretched a lot? or am I just harkening back to my youth and having flashbacks?

but I SWEAR!!! I can throw farther with less effort each time after I have hurt myself!!

maybe it's because I am not pushing it as hard and am more fluid in my motion?

maybe it's because I have been forced to develop my forehand shot game because thats the only shot that didnt seem to hurt my arm after each injury ?

I guess I'm curious as to anyone with a medical background or has experienced something similar themselves. does the muscle rebuild better as you'train'it?

Often it seems we attribute a 50ft putt to luck, or more often it seems a nice 100-200 ft shot to luck. and of course those Ace;s all of you seem to be getting..to luck.
But I always seem to think ..well, if you threw in the general direction of the basket and maybe closed your eyes it might be luck, but otherwise if you were aiming for the basket and it goes in in any situation ( ok..maybe unless it skips in or bounces off a tree..) then it was skill!! right?

Ok. so then what about all those missed shots? do we suck that bad? or is it not as easy as some make it look? haha..ok, maybe its just me!

Do you contribute a nice long shot or putt to skill or luck? I say skill.

I am the type of person that would pack the kitchen sink if possible when I go anywhere. My wife likes to pick on me about that at times. So what I am wondering is how manyextradiscs do you take to a tournament? I usually take extra jackets, socks, waterbottles, towels, etc.... Over the years I probably have lent out the majority of my extra's somewhere along the way. Thankfully the majority has come back.

If I have received a good answer for this, I honestly can't recalll what it is. It is simply because a pro player receives money for finishing well, and an amateur receives merchandise? There must be some underlying assumptions about the financial status of a Pro player vs. an Amateur player that I am not following. Or is there more? Does the PDGA kick in more money or provide more resources for Pro events than Am events? If so, shouldn't that resource difference be reflected in what the person pays at the event? For the life of me, I can't figure out why keeping track of player information at the PDGA costs more for someone in a Professional division than an Amateur one.

Please help me understand.
